Donation of $4 million for the purchase of rice
Friday, a donation agreement of a total value of 4 million dollars was signed with Japan for the purchase of rice to be sold in the Haitian market at a preferential price. Under terms of the agreement, Haiti is committed to ensuring unloading and customs clearance of goods at ports, its transport and storage at its expense. The money from the sale of rice will finance (under supervision of Japan) social projects, such as among others : building schools and support to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Resignation of Prime Minister inopportune
Michel Brunache, the spokesman of the Primature, said this week, inappropriate the many calls for the resignation of Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe. He considers it inappropriate an eventual resignation of the Head of Government, which would only worsen the situation "It would graft a governmental crisis to the crisis of dysfunctional Parliament soon."

Consensus on the salary scale for educational staff
Friday, a consensus was reached among the members of the Multiparty Commission for the adoption of a salary scale for educational staff.
