iciHaiti - FLASH : Schools burnt, the Ministry requests the assistance of the population
In a statement, the Ministry of Education expresses its deep concern by the arson that occurred on the night of Thursday to Friday in public schools in Léogâne (École Nationale mixte, hosting 21 polling stations, which was totally destroyed) and to the Gonaïves the Lycée Fabre Geffrard, also used as a Voting Center (14 polling stations) where the damage are significant and the premises unusable, penalizing hundreds of children deprived of their right to education.

"The Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) reiterates the need for all citizens to protect the school in all circumstances, in order to guarantee that children have access to knowledge and continue efforts to increase the school offer [...] The MENFP therefore appeal to the conscience of all citizens to ensure the protection of interests of our children above all and infrastructure and school equipment."
