iciHaiti - Health : Strengthening of FBR in 4 departments
The Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP) through funding from the World Bank and in partnership with the Management Sciences For Health (MSH) officially launched the Technical Assistance for Health Financing Based on Results (FBR) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11775-haiti-health-launch-of-the-strategy-results-based-financing.html in contractualized health departments.

The technical assistance consists of a continuous capacity building at various levels of the health system. More than a hundred health institutions of Centre Northeast, Northwest and South will benefit from this technical support with funds from the World Bank.

Dr. Margareth Mallet, the MSH Representative in Haiti, welcomed the launch of the technical assistance FBR that will benefit health institutions but especially to Haitian families especially those most vulnerable. Moreover she said to believe that this technical assistance will help improve the quantity and quality of services, governance, pharmaceutical management, human resource management and strengthening of the health information system at the healthcare offer.

Dr. Isabelle Siméon the Representative of the World Bank in the framework of this activity, stressed "We are pleased to continue to work alongside the State for better health situation of the Haitian people. The World Bank was the first multilateral organization to commit funds to Haiti since the adoption of FBR by MSPP as a national strategy."

For his part Dr. Gabriel Timothée, Director General of MSPP, highlighted the benefits of the strategy FBR during the pilot phase during which 7 Northeast institutions saw their results subsidized, which allowed among other to improve the quality and quantity of services provided of at least 30%. He also officially launched the technical assistance and called for the effective and sustained involvement of all stakeholders so that the efforts already undertaken during the pilot phase are not in vain.
