As from the first day of his accession to the Presidency, nearly 50,000 of our compatriots returned to Haiti from the Dominican Republic, deported or voluntarily, without the Government does something to welcome and assist them, the President de facto Privert finally aware of the problem... brought together stakeholders, to eventually leading to the creation of aermanent Commission, as a response to our compatriots back home...

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Interior and Territorial Communities, Annick François Joseph, senior officials of the Ministries of Interior (including those of the Civil Protection Directorate), Social Affairs and Labour, Foreign Affairs and Worship and the the National Identification Office, of the National Office of Migration and of National Committee for the Fight against Human Trafficking.

After this meeting, stakeholders have agreed on the need for the establishment of a permanent commission able to welcome, coach and assist our compatriots in a difficult situation following their forced repatriation. It is unknown what resources are available for this umpteenth Governmental Commission...
