iciHaiti - Politics : Demonstration against Jovenel Moïse repressed by CIMO 12/09/2017 08:00:44
On Monday, several hundred activists and sympathizers of Fanmi Lavalas demonstrated in the streets of Port-au-Prince for the anniversary of the massacre of Saint John Bosco (1988) and denounced the mismanagement of the ruling team and the vassalization of public institutions according to the demonstrators. As they approached Pavée Street, some demonstrators tried to go to Parliament before turning to the National Palace. As the march was not defined beforehand and the fervor of the protesters, suggesting a violent outbreak, the agents of the Body of Intervention and Maintenance of Order (CIMO) have intervened to disperse the demonstrators using tear gas and rubber bullets shooting. Some angry demonstrators broke the windscreen of a State vehicle on Capois Street. One wounded is reported. S/ iciHaiti
