iciHaiti - Cavaillon : Towards a green commune !

Saturday the Mayor of Cavaillon (South) Ernst Ais, accompanied by his assistants Myriam Jean-Louis and Jean Marie Naissant, in the presence of Pierre Simon Georges, the Minister of the Environment, the Coordinator of CASEC, and young schoolchildren launched in Martineau (2nd communal section) in partnership with the College Catts Pressoir (Port-au-Prince), the first phase of a reforestation project in Cavaillon.

Dozens of students from College Catts Pressoir (Port-au-Prince) accompanied by parents and College officials came to join a hundred other young people from 14 schools in Cavaillon in order to participate actively in the preparation of a nursery of 100,000 seedlings, the first phase of the reforestation project.

This project of planting fruit and forest trees should become a reality next June in 5 communal sections of Cavaillon: Boileau (1st), Martineau (2nd), Gros Marin (3rd), Mare Henri (4th) and Laroque (5th), as part of the World Environment Day (5 June), during a major reforestation campaign.
