Thursday, President Danilo Medina met with the Minister of Defense, Rubén Paulino Sem, accompanied by the military high command. The Director General of Migration, Máximo Muñoz Delgado was also present. There has been talk about the monitoring of the implementation of measures to strengthen surveillance at the border to fight against the entry of illegal immigrants whose number has increased considerably and also to fight against smuggling.
