iciHaiti - Petit-Goâve : The population angry sets fire to the Peace Court
Saturday 7, as in many places on the national territory, the decision to increase the price of fuels https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-24881-haiti-flash-the-price-of-gas-explodes-at-the-pump.html pushed the population of Petit-Goâve on the concrete. Protesters broke bottles across the streets and erected barricades of tires inflamed with rocks blocking traffic here and there.

In front of the town hall, people threw stones and left a burning tire in front.

Around noon, angry residents set fire to the Petit-Goâve Peace Court. The police officers led by the Police Commissioner, Conseillant Julbert, intervened, throwing water to extinguish the flames outside, however the fire continued inside...

Around 1:00 pm, the communal market of Petit-Goâve was deserted. Under the stones, the pressure and the threats, all the merchants had left the place hurriedly to take refuge at home. Several tires on fire were visible in front of the market.

The main barrier of the office of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) of Petit-Goâve was burned. The walls of the building have been blackened by flames.
