iciHaiti - Justice : The OPC at the 5th Seminar on the Universal Periodic Review
Me Renan Hédouville, the Protecteur du Citoyen (OPC), accompanied by Anita Jean Baptiste Dolma (Coordinator of the Technical Secretariat of the Interministerial Committee for Human Rights at the Primature), participated to the 5th seminar on the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), held in Dakar (Senegal) on 25 and 26 July, organized by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF).

The objectives of the Seminar included: exchanging international and regional human rights mechanisms in the context of follow-up to the UPR recommendations; to share experiences and good practices in preparing States for the transition to the UPR, of the effective implementation of the UPR recommendations; strengthen cooperation between parliaments, national human rights institutions (NHRIs), civil society and regional human rights protection mechanisms in the UPR process and finally analyze synergies possible, with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and human rights indicators to harmonize human rights and development efforts under the UPR.
