iciHaiti - DR : The Dominicans will build a 5th border base
As part of the strengthening of the southern border of the Dominican Republic, on the sidelines of a tour in the province of Barahona, the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Rubén Paulino Sem, announced this week the construction in the province of Barahona of a 5th inter-institutional border base.

This new infrastructure will be mainly at the service of the National Directorate of Drug Control and the Dominican Navy (ARD) to fight against drug trafficking, smuggling of goods and weapons in this area, said Lieutenant-General Rubén Paulino Sem, adding "This new position will be very important because of the vulnerability of this part of the territory and the sea where smuggler cargoes are frequently intercepted, from Guancho to Barahona."

During his tour, Paulino Sem supervised the progress of the construction of the 4th El Carrizal Inter-Institutional Base, Elías Piñas Province, which will be inaugurated soon and whose closing wall to ensure the protection of the totality of the installations is being completed https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-27225-haiti-dr-the-government-confirms-that-the-wall-of-the-dominicans-respects-the-haitian-territory.html specifying that a pedestrian access route between the two countries will allow entry into the customs and immigration offices.
