iciHaiti - Humanitarian : Towards improving food security sector responses in the country
The Coordination of the Food Security (SA) sector in Haiti, provided by the National Coordination of Food Security (CNSA), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Food Program (WFP), with the support of the European Commission's Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO), recently held a workshop in Port-au-Prince with its partners to strategically reflect on the prioritization of interventions and improved performance of sector coordination.

During this workshop, in the presence of the Coordinator of the global food security cluster (based in Rome), the partners conducted a strategic analysis of the various interventions for the first half of 2019, implemented in Haiti as part of the Humanitarian Response Plan (PRH) 2019-2020 to food insecurity in Haiti, in areas with the most critical needs, including the different modalities of cash transfers, with a view to improving coordination for the coming months.

In order to define the priority areas and activities in Haiti, the interventions of the SA sector have been the subject of proposals for updates, which will lead to revisions of the sectoral strategy. In addition, the partners reviewed the strategy and performance of SA sector coordination in Haiti and identified actions to maintain and improve coordination performance.

The PRH review and update process will begin with the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) between August and September 2019. Targeted individuals and priority areas will also be reviewed in these proposals.

Recall that the response to food insecurity in Haiti is part of the Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP/OCHA) 2019-2020, it includes the response of the various humanitarian actors of the Food Security sector both in the areas of assistance than in the area of livelihoods and resilience.
