iciHaiti - Environment : «COY15 Haiti», call for applications
The Youth Climate Change Conference "COY" Conference of Youth /I> is an event that mobilizes young people from different parts of the world to share their concerns ahead of the "COP" Conference of Parties to influence the climate negotiations process.

This year, Haiti will organize its 4th Local edition "COY15 Haiti" on November 13 and 14, 2019 at Campus Henry Christophe de Limonade (North) whose general objective is to maximize the efforts made by young Haitians to reduce the consequences of changes in Haiti.

Themes retained : Energy; Green economy; Climate policy; Land Use Planning and Climate Change; Waste management ; Youth Participation and Engagement; Health and Climate; Transport and Climate; Sustainable agriculture ; Migration and Climate.

Specific objectives :

  • Inform, educate and educate 300 young people about the challenges of climate change in Haiti through conferences, trainings, workshops and participatory dialogue;
  • Create a network of young people active in the climate;
  • Identify a national campaign, which will be conducted by young people in the ten (10) departments of the country;
  • Technically and financially support a youth initiative in Haiti in the green economy.

Eligibility criteria to register and participate :

  • To be Haitian;
  • Be between 17 and 30 years old;
  • Be a community leader, professional or student;
  • Be available during the two days of the conference;
  • Commit to involve in the implementation of the national campaign that will be initiated at the YOC;
  • Have an innovative income generating project (if applicable);
  • Be able to pay the participation fees required by the organizers.

Supported by the organizers :

  • Didactic materials;
  • Certificate of participation;
  • Catering (breakfast + Lunch) during the two days of the event.
