iciHaiti - Mali : Haiti at the Biennials of Photography in Bamako
The Biennial of Photography opens its doors this Sunday, November 30, 2019 in Bamako, Mali until January 31, 2020. Nearly 85 artists from all over the African continent and the diaspora will present their artistic projects and for the first time this year a group of Haitian photographers "Kolektif 2 Dimansyon (K2D)" will be represented at the Rencontres de Bamako.

The Embassy of France in Haiti is proud to support the trip of the Haitian photographer Edine Celestin, who will present the project "KAZAL", directed by the collective K2D. She will be accompanied by 2 other members of this project devoted to the massacre of Kazal perpetrated under the dictatorship of François Duvalier in 1969. A massacre published in a book of photographs of K2D and published in March 2019 at Éditions André Frères under the title "Kazal or the memories of an erased massacre" (French / Creole / English)

Created in 1994, the Rencontres de Bamako are today the main artistic event in the field of photography on the African continent. The French Ministry of Culture and the Institut Français are partners in this international event.
