iciHaiti - Health : Port-au-Prince is preparing for the arrival of Covid-19

As part of the awareness and prevention campaign on the Covid-19 of the West Health Directorate (DSO) of the Ministry of Public Health, Ralph Youri Chevry, the Mayor of Port-au-Prince accompanied by the Director General of the Town Hall, Anne-René Louis, of her medical and communication teams met with DSO officials at the Marriott hotel.

At the end of this meeting, it was agreed that an action plan would be put in place to prepare for a possible occurrence of Covid-19 cases in the commune of Port-au-Prince.

As part of this preparation, around 3,000 Civil Protection and Community Health agents will receive training in order to raise awareness and inform the population (in schools, public markets, families, etc...) about the means of prevention and the behaviors to adopt when faced with Covid-19.

Note that so far, the health authorities of Haiti, affirm that there is so far no suspected or confirmed case of Covid-19 on Haitian territory.
