Major General Rubén Darío Paulino Sem, Dominican Minister of Defense, observes that since the closure of the Dominican-Haitian border within the framework of the state of health emergency that "[...] Haitian nationals emigrate in large numbers to Haiti. Just yesterday, we received a request from the Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of Haiti, asking to transport 1,200 Haitians to their country from Punta Cana."
