Friday, September 4, Prime Minister Joseph Jouthe chaired an important meeting with representatives of the Haitian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIH), the Haitian-American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) and other stakeholders in the private business sector in Haiti.

Discussions focused specifically on the provisions provided for in the press release published on August 31 by the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MCI) reminding economic and financial actors of the obligation imposed on them, by law, to dispaly the prices of goods and services in gourdes within a period not exceeding 72 hours https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-31698-icihaiti-economy-ultimatum-from-the-ministry-of-commerce.html

At the end of this meeting to which participatd the Minister of Trade and Industry, Jonas Coffy and the Governor of the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) Jean Baden Dubois participated, it was decided to extend the deadline of compliance of businesses until Monday, September 7.

This extension responds to a set of concerns expressed by private sector players regarding the little time they had to comply with the terms of compliance with price display measures in national currency.
