iciHaiti - Sports : The Ministry calls for better management of sports infrastructure
Ronald Gérard D’Mézard, the Minister of Youth and Sports, toured the sports infrastructure in the departments of Center, North-East, North and Artibonite in early October.

Following this tour, Minister D’Mézard advocates better management of sports centers, most of which are in a deplorable state in addition to suffering from irregularities relating to construction techniques.

The Ministry asks the heads of departmental directorates to involve clubs, associations and civil society in the management of parks and sports centers in their respective departments while providing technical support to facilitate the maintenance and upkeep of these infrastructures.

The Minister believes that a large part of sports centers are underutilized while young people struggle to find a space to promote the expression of their talent. As a result, he has given instructions to the managers of sports centers so that they promote the access for young people to these sports and recreational spaces.

D’Mézard intends to continue his series of visits to the Great South in order to get an idea of all the sporting infrastructures at the national level and to undertake concrete actions in order to provide young people with a framework for their development.
