iciHaiti - NOTICE : Call for applications, 27th PhotoESPAÑA Festival
Participate in the PHotoESPAÑA International Festival of Photography and Visual Arts by presenting your photographic work as part of the 27th edition of PHotoESPAÑA, the International Festival of Photography and Visual Arts (May 28 and June 5, 2024,) in the city from Madrid, Spain.

The Transcultura program : Integrating Cuba, the Caribbean and the European Union through culture and creativity, funded by the European Union and implemented by the UNESCO Regional Office in Havana, has partnered with La Fábrica — a cultural management company that develops projects linked to creativity, design and the arts — in order to give the opportunity to fifteen (15) young photographers from the Caribbean, aged 18 to 35, to present their work photographic and connect with leading curators, cultural managers and photographers from Spain and the world during this important festival in Europe.

PHotoESPAÑA is a photography festival with a strong social character that, every year, makes Madrid and Spain meeting points for the world of photography.

For its 2024 edition, and under the title Perpetuum Mobile, the central theme of the event will be “perpetual movement”, an allegory of photography as a dynamic medium, as one of the most democratic artistic expressions that exist.

Eligibility Criteria :
Young Caribbean photographers, aged 18 to 35, with legal citizenship and residency in one of the 17 Caribbean countries within the geographic scope of the Transcultura program: Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas , Barbados, Belize, Cuba, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Dominican Republic, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines , Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago.

Deadline : Proposals must be submitted by and no later than 11:59 p.m. Havana Time (GMT - 4 hours), March 10, 2024.

Selection process :
Once all applications are received, they will be subject to a rigorous selection process by a selection committee.

Photographic proposals linked to the theme of the 2024 edition of the Festival, "perpetual movement", and to transversal themes such as "gender", "Africa" and/or "diaspora", will be particularly appreciated.

Proposals should be submitted by sending an email to the following address : transcultura.programme@unesco.org, with a copy to a.guma@unesco.org, with the subject : "Proposition pour PHotoESPAÑA 2024"

Appendix/file no. 1 :
From one (1) to three (3) personal photos in one of the following formats: JPEG, PNG, TIFF, PSD, SVG:
High resolution images (300 dpi) of the person applying (the attached image files must be named as follows: Last name_First name_image number.

Appendix/file no. 2 :
Scanned and readable copy of the biographical page of the interested person's passport.

Appendix/file no. 3 :
Compressed file containing strictly between 10 and 15 photos (published or not), reflecting the work of the artist.
