iciHaiti - CCIHC : Two countries, a world of opportunities
In a note, the Haitian-Canadian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIHC) says it is convinced that in these tumultuous times, where socio-economic and political challenges seem endless, it is crucial to reaffirm our commitment to force collective and community organization for food empowerment.

"Now is the time to redouble our efforts to organize and make agriculture not only a priority, but a vital necessity to meet our basic food needs.

By investing in mutual societies, as our ancestors did in the past in the 'Konbit', we strengthen our collective resilience in the face of economic hazards and crises. These structures offer us a safety net, allowing us to face financial difficulties and develop sustainable agricultural projects.

The 'Konbit', for their part, embody the spirit of collaboration and sharing that has always been at the heart of our culture. By joining forces to cultivate the land, we reaffirm our deep connection with our environment and our ability to ensure our own sustenance. More than a simple agricultural activity, 'Konbit' is a concrete manifestation of our ability to support each other in difficult times.

By celebrating Agriculture and Labor Day on May 1st, we honor our ancestors who fought for social and economic justice. Their legacy reminds us that even in the darkest times, there is hope. By committing to working together, investing in our community and cultivating the land that nourishes us, we can build a better future for all Haitians."
