U.S. Coast Guard-called Haitians stay at home

Coast Guard of the United States asks Haitians to stay home rather than risk a perilous voyage at seato leave their island. Dozens of Haitian migrants have died in recent attempts. -The Coast Guard has collected more than 400 Haitians at sea since October 1. Officials also also highlight a significant increase over the past year, of the number of Haitians trying to cross the 130 kilometers separating the Dominican Republic to Puerto Rico. The U.S. Coast Guard, working with the Haitian community in South Florida to produce a PSA in Creole and English.
