New appointments within the public service

Two new appointments were made within the Haitian government. These are Mr.Harrison Ernest, appointed Director General of the National Radio of Haiti (RNH) and Mrs. Norma Powell, namedGeneral Director of Investment Facilitation Center (CFI).

NOTICE: Rehabilitation works on the electrical network in Péligre

The Directorate General of Electricity of Haiti (EDH) informs its customers of the metropolitan area and of the Central Plateau in particular, that "in the context of rehabilitation of the Central of Péligre, for reasons of safety, the EDH is forced to stop operation of the generator of teh plant, on working days from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm until completion. A slight decrease in power hours could be observed in the above areas. The Electricity of Haiti relies on patience and understanding of the people renewed him its determination to work for better access to electricity."

Dany Laferrière received by the President of France

Friday, Dany Laferrière, Quebec writer of Haitian origin and a new member of the French Academy, was received at the Elysee by the President of the Republic of France, François Hollande. "It had my first book on the table 'How to make love to a negro without getting tired'," declared Dany Laferrière after his encounter "he [Holland] was smiling, affable. It is clear he loves converse with writers [...] We talked about Haiti length and Quebec. In Haiti, there was talk of a large library, because I want a presence of France in Haiti stronger".

Strengthening of cooperation relations with Turkey

On the margins of 19th Ordinary Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) held in Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago), the Haitian Chancellor, Pierre-Richard Casimir met Cevdet Yilmaz, Turkish Minister of Development, to discuss the possibility of building cooperative relations between Haiti and Turkey. Cevdet Yilmaz was very interested in developing cooperation, particularly in the health sector and education including an increase in the program of scholarships and further training for young and senior public administration.
