The election date, already divides

The political class is divided on the date of 26 October for the upcoming elections, announced by President Martelly. First radio show on Haiti in Suriname

Saturday, the Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti Suriname, offered the Haitian Community and the Surinamese their first radio show on Haitian culture "Haiti's Vibes" (every Saturday from 4:00 to 5:00 pm) on the radio station SRS (96.3 FM). The Consul Alex Jospitre said the initiative was part of its efforts to promote the Haitian culture in the country, boost the industry of Haitian music by offering new markets for Haitian artists, because this Surinamese radio is also listened to Holland via the internet. The Consul took the opportunity to thank "SAYA Car Sales & Rental NV" and the host Micheline Jean, for their support.

Drinking water in Côtes-de-Fer

Sunday, the National Directorate of Water Supply and Sanitation (DINEPA) inaugurated the System of Water Supply of Côtes-de-Fer. This network consists of a pumping station providing 120 to 140 gallons of water per minute, a reservoir of 200m3 and 6 water distribution kiosks.

€5 million for the elections

This Tuesday the European Union and the United Nations Development have signed a convention of €5 million to support the organization of elections in Haiti. The agreement was signed by Javier Nino Perez, Ambassador of the European Union (EU) in Haiti, and Sophie de Caen, Senior Director of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The ceremony was attended by Naël Laguerre, Councillor in charge of monitoring of Provisional Electoral Council to the Primature.
