Tourism : South Zone and Côte-de-Fer

Monday, Stéphanie Balmir Villedouin, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Industries, had a meeting with Mr. Torres, Spanish Consultant for the Inter American Development Bank (IDB) on the project of Côtes-de-Fer. The same day, the Minister also had a follow-up meeting with the consultants Jones and Lassales, concerning the Tourism Development plan of the South zone including Côte-de-Fer.

According to her, to the basis of this situation : the reckless spending that are not oriented towards productive activities. She announced consultations with the banking sector and producers, with the aim of halting the alarming devaluation of the national currency and stimulate the economy.

3 months internship in DR for 10 young

Monday, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Industries, met 10 young people recruited by Marriott International for a three-month internship in the Dominican Republic. Recall that Marriott International in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, through the Directorate of Education had launched the recruitment since November 2013. Out of 187 young applicants, only 10 have passed the tests and evaluation and will benefit from this internship which will start in May.

Saturday, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 211th anniversary of Toussaint Louverture, the Ambassador of Haiti in Canada Frantz Liautaud and his wife, Florence Saint-Léger Liautaud who were in Toronto at French Theatre, urged Haitians to follow example of Toussaint Louverture "Dear compatriots and friends, the call to the sacred union of Toussaint should, I believe, serve as a lesson : move away the partisan infighting unproductive. Instead, thinking country and let's work together in mutual respect, to the rebuilding our Haiti bloodless. To the stablishment, finally, of a democratic rule of law at home."
