Electricity issue between Vietnam and Haiti

Thursday in the framework of co-operation program of the energy sector Haiti Vietnam was held a working meeting between J. Lesly Benoit, Head of Mission of the Embassy of Haiti in Vietnam, Viettel Group represented by Mr. PhamThi Thu Huong, Vice Director of Projects and the Vietnamese Company of Electricity (EVN) represented by Dr. Ing. Nguyen Phu Gia, Vice Director of the Investment Department in preparation for the arrival of the Vietnamese delegation of energy experts, who will be in Haiti from June 3 to 20.

Signature of an agreement between FAES and UNDP

Thursday, an agreement was signed between Klaus Eberwein, Director General of Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES) and Sophie de Caen, General Director of UNDP HAITI. This agreement concern the renewal between UNDP and the FAES of the Technical Support Project of UNPD to the programs of conditional transfers "Ede pèp" managed by the FAES namely : the establishment of a system of monitoring and evaluation and management of lessons learned; the strategic and operational design of cash transfer programs to make them better and the capacity building of FAES to pilot national databases such as the Single Registry of Beneficiaries.

Meeting between the Ministry of Education and UNESCO

A working meeting was held between officials from the Ministry of Education and UNESCO in order to review the project, progress and delays and identify opportunities for advancement. This review focused on: the policy of teacher training; curriculum reform; the Information System for Management of Education; Census of Higher Education; the support to the Training Centre of Executives of Education (CFCE); the construction of Lycée de la Montagne in Jacmel; the non-Formal Education and on the Education Sectorial Group (CSG).

The Haitian Red Cross celebrates its 82 years

On Thursday, the National Society of the Haitian Red Cross (CRH) has celebrated its 82 years of existence. The opportunity for Dr. Guiteau Jean-Pierre, President of the CRH to recall the objectives of the Society : a Haitian Red Cross more visible and a governance focused on open and close collaboration with all partners (the Haitian government, the participating National Societies and National collaborators), while advocating for a shared leadership, respectable and respectful of the fundamental principles and humanitarian values ​​of the International Movement of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.
