Bélizaire considering moving...

The Deputy Arnel Bélizaire rules out any possibility to putting an end to his hunger strike if his demands are not met. Furthermore, the Deputy threat to move to a new phase in its action by occupying the rostrum of the lower house, to prevent the holding of meetings.

Laurent Lamothe in Colombia

The Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe left the country on Wednesday for an official visit to Colombia, where he will attend Thursday, August 7, along with many Heads of State and Government, at the inauguration of Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos Calderón , re-elected on June 16. The Head of State will be back in Haiti on the evening of Thursday.

Workshop on traditional songs

Last Saturday, Marie Carmelle Rose Anne Auguste, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister, in charge of Human Rights and the Fight Against Extreme Poverty had a working session with George Wilson (Moumousse) to schedule a workshop of traditional songs with popular music groups in shantytowns.

New exhibition at MUPANAH

"Rencontre" is the title of the next exhibition at the Musée du Panthéon National Haïtien (MUPANAH) on contemporary Haitian art of today in all its diversity. This exhibition will open its doors to the public on 14 August.

Final of the improvisation contest

Friday, August 8, as part of the International Youth Day, celebrated on August 12 each year, will host the final contest of artistic improvisation "Men sa jèn yo vle pou demen ka pi bèl", to the French Alliance of Jacmel from 8:00 am. Young Haitian artists finalists, aged between 18 and 25 years living in the Southeast, including Jacmel, will perform in the following four disciplines: theater, painting, poetry / slam and song / music. This activity is coordinated by the two offices of the United Nations Volunteers, the COHAIV, France Volunteers and TECHO, in partnership with the French Alliance of Jacmel.
