Agreement with the UNHCR
Tuesday, Duly Brutus, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Shelley Pitterman, the representative Office of the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding concerning the right of asylum and refugee protection in Haiti. Through this agreement, the Government of Haiti demonstrates its commitment to strengthening and promoting the rule of law in Haiti "This is a new stage, with the technical assistance of the UNHCR in the drafting of a regulation on asylum in Haiti," declared Chancellor Brutus which announced the appointment of a national consultant and the formation of an interministerial committee to help materialize this project.

This Wednesday, October 16, the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation and the National Observatory on Poverty and Social Exclusion, organized a Brainstorming Workshop on statistics in public policy, in which the results of Minimum Statistical Programme, funded by the European Union and designed to dispose on time of reliable statistical data to be used to develop, the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Strategic Plan of Development of Haiti (PSDH).
