5 children victims of a fire

On the night of Monday 23 to Tuesday 24 February, 5 children from the same family were killed in a fire of indeterminate origin, in the locality of Mat Rouge commune of Môle St Nicolas (Northwest).

Vocational training for 185 young people of Cité Soleil

This Thursday morning was held at the Municipal Palace of Delmas the project closing ceremony of vocational training for 185 young people from Cité Soleil. Recall that in the framework of the project "Women and Youth in vulnerable situations : implementation of a community model of socio-professional empowerment", a vocational training adapted to the immediate needs of integration of young people in a vulnerable situation in Cité Soleil, was jointly developed and implemented by the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF), the Division of Community Violence Reduction (CVR) of the MINUSTAH, the National Institute of Professional Training (INFP) and other Civil Society partners.

Reintegration of women prisoners

Wednesday was held the closing ceremony social reintegration project of 12 months, for the benefit of women prisoners in the prison of Petion-Ville. This project funded by the section of the Community Violence Reduction (CVR) of the Minustah was jointly carried out by the Terre des Hommes Foundation Italy, the Directorate of Prison Administration and the Correction Unit of the UN Mission. Partners and project beneficiaries have testified of the benefits of this program, which offered an integrated civic education training, sewing, crochet, basketry, cosmetics and pastry/bakery, to the women incarcerated in the prison of Petion-Ville.

This Thursday, two computer centers will be opened in Cornillon and Grand Bois.

Tourism: Haiti at the ITB fair

Haiti will participate again this year at the prestigious tourism fair ITB Berlin Convention, from 4 to 8 March 2015 in Germany. In preparation for this annual gathering of key players in the tourism industry worldwide, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Industries, met Wednesday, the German Ambassador accredited to Port-au-Prince, Klaus Peter.
