Lucie Tondreau sentenced to 5 years in prison

On Tuesday, the former mayor of North Miami, American of Haitian origin, Lucie Tondreau was sentenced to 65 months imprisonment by the American justice. Special mission of The Financial Times in Haiti

This week, the Financial Times, a British financial newspaper of international renown, is on a special mission in Haiti, for writing an article about the investment opportunities of the country. The team is composed of international renowned journalists such Andres Schipani, John M. Moncure and David Applefield. Note that the Financial Times is printed simultaneously in 24 countries around the world, as exposure for the emerging sector of the Haitian investment and tourism.

Patriotic Gift

Tuesday at the National Palace, the President Michel Martelly received the Ambassador of Mexico, Jose Luis Alvarado. Mexican Ambassador handed to the Head of State a Haitian flag made of silk entirely hand-stitched by a Mexican artist.

54th World Theatre Day

Monday for the opening of the "Week of the Stage", activiy that activities to mark the 54th World Theatre Day (March 27th), Dithny Joan Raton, the Minister of Culture, paid a courtesy visit to the National Theatre. Between exhibitions, debates, conferences and workshops, the Director General of the National Theatre, Yves Pénel, opens the space for young players and lovers of culture until March 28, every day, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

Ambassador of France visited Martissant and Baillergeau

Saturday, the Ambassador of France accredited to Haiti, Elisabeth Beton Delègue, visited the two areas of intervention of the Integrated development program of Informal Areas of Port-au-Prince (AIQIP): Martissant and Baillergeau. During this visit, Mrs. Delègue was accompanied by officials of the Housing Construction Unit and Public Buildings (UCLBP), as well as representatives of one of the technical partners of the program.
