Agreement Haiti-Canada-Switzerland

On Tuesday, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ambassadors of Canada and Switzerland accredited in Haiti, initialed an agreement for the expansion of the funding program and crop insurance in Haiti. The amount of the agreement is 5 million US dollars.

Joint Bilateral Commission

As part of the strengthening of cooperation between Haiti and the Dominican Republic, the next meeting of the Joint Bilateral Commission will be held in Haiti before the end of May. Previously, the Technical Committee of the two countries will meet to follow up on issues of interest pending and the development of future agreements.

4th Congress of Writers of the Caribbean

Haiti will participate in the 4th edition of the Congress of Writers of the Caribbean from 15 to 18 April 2015, at the Hotel Creole Beach in Gosier Guadeloupe. Haitian writers Dominique Batraville, Joël des Rosiers, Yanick Lahens, Renauld Govain, James Noël, Lyonel Trouillot and Evains Wêche will participate in this edition with many writers, critics and publishers of all countries of the Caribbean, French, English and Spanish, on the theme "Travel, migration, diasporas in Caribbean literature."

Condolences from France

The Embassy of France in Haiti has learned with sadness the passing of Rodrigo Sanhueza, Chilean sergeant of the Minustah https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13601-haiti-flash-extreme-tension-at-the-border-a-peacekeeper-shot-dead.html and deplores the use of violence during demonstrations. France extends its sincere condolences to the family and relatives of the soldier, and the United Nations Stabilisation Mission in Haiti and the Chilean battalion.

XIVth Annual Meeting of the MIOA

On Tuesday, a meeting was held on the establishment of the Organizing Committee of the XIV Annual Meeting of the Market Information for the Organization of the Americas (MIOA) the Ministry of Agriculture. This fair of the market of the Americas is a network of 35 countries organized around the formation of a common market. The holding of this major international event, is planned for he month of October in Haiti. Took part to this planning meeting the Ministries of : Tourism, Culture, Trade, Finance, Agriculture, the MHAVE, the National Police of Haiti (PNH) and the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
