iciHaiti - Economy : 4th edition of the Haitian Diaspora Day

The Embassy of Canada in Haiti participated in the 4th edition of the Haitian Diaspora Day in Montreal on April 25th. Under the theme of "Investments and business relations Quebec-Haiti-Canada" this day was an opportunity for the Haitian diaspora and the friends of Haiti to discuss the economic ties between our two countries and economic development efforts in Haiti. It also offered the chance to highlight the exceptional contribution of the 150 000 Canadians of Haitian origin in the development of Canada and Haiti.
As part of an expert panel, the commercial section of the Embassy provided an update on the status of our commercial relations, the challenges and opportunities of the Haitian market and the services offered by Trade Commissioners to Canadian firms. This outreach to Montreal was also the opportunity for the commercial section to meet with firms that are interested or have already worked in Haiti.
