iciHaiti - Social : Meeting of the Interministerial Committee for Human Rights

The Prime Minister, Paul Evans, held an important meeting in order to reframe the Interministerial Committee for Human Rights (CIDP), whose he ensures the Presidency since the removal in the new government of consensus, of the Bureau of the Former Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister, Marie Marie Carmelle Rose Anne responsible for human rights and the fight against extreme poverty.

It was an opportunity for the Head of Government to underline the importance of this transversal Committee, given its task of ensuring [inter alia] the monitoring of the implementation of pacts and conventions relating to Human Rights, to which Haiti acceded. He reviewed the situation of respect for fundamental rights and the fight against extreme poverty. Prime Minister Paul has shown particular concern about the prolonged preventive detention and prison overcrowding.
