Wednesday, as part of his tour in Ecuador and Uruguay https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13751-haiti-diplomacy-tour-of-lener-renauld-in-ecuador-and-uruguay.html , the new interim Chancellor Lener Renauld together with the city of Quito, inaugurated in the Ecuadorian capital the "Plaza Haiti".

Located in the heart of Quito, 3 statues were erected on this square dedicated to Haiti. Two in memory of Haitians hero: Jean Jacquees Dessalines, the founder of the country and Alexandre Pétion, Father of Pan-Americanism. The third statue a flame, with the inscription "Haiti 1804".

"This inauguration is the result of a good history of cooperation and friendship between the two countries," declared moved the Chancellor Renauld. After the inauguration, the Chancellor left Ecuador for Uruguay where he must represent Haiti at the UN Conference on Human Rights held in Montevideo.
