Saturday, Rotchild Francois Jr, spokesman of the Government, accompanied by the Mayor of the City and the Departmental Delegate, visited the Emergency Operation Center (COU) of the Civil Protection (DPC), to serve Gonaïves and its surroundings.

With emergency equipment, including power tools and over 500 tents, the Centre has modern IT structures, electrical and technical, to help give an immediate response in case of major natural hazards.

The Centre, under the supervision the Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities via the DPC, is an important step in the framework of efforts by the Government to provide the Department of Artibonite, of prevention infrastructures in general and during the rainy season in particular.
