Fresner Dorcin, Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development and Michel Chancy, Secretary of State for Animal Production convened the directorates of animal health, plant protection, quarantine and laboratory to discuss for two days (May 22 and 23) of the new plant and animal health control structure.

The Commission set up by the authorities of the Ministry, presented its findings to executives who have made their comments in order to make functional the Plant and animal health unit (UPS). These discussions will allow the Haitian State to move a little closer to international standards. This new structure (UPS) will facilitate to Haiti, the access to a greater share in international markets and improve the safety of food in local markets.
