At least 25 Haitians aboard a Daihatsu truck, white were injured in an accident that occurred on the road to Mao, in the province of Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic.

These Haitians, all illegal workers in a farm of Batey Jaramillo (Monte Cristi), went to Mao, following the decision of their employers to send them to regularize their immigration status by enrolling in the PNRE. According to testimonies the driver of Dominican origin (also injured) would have lost control of his truck in a curve.

The injured were taken to the public hospital "Padre Fantino" of Monte Cristi, are found among them Marie Dorcevil, Anyela Jean, Mariluz Pierre, Marielly Jean.

The Police in collaboration with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (AMET), opened an investigation into the accident.
