iciHaiti - Economy : New Director General of Customs

Monday, while customs revenues accused in the month of May a deficit of 1 billion gourdes income on revenue targets of 25 billion Gdes, planned for 2014-2015, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ronald Décembre, Secretary of State for Finance proceeded to the installation of Victor H. Saint-Louis as new Director General of the General Administration of Customs (AGD).
Previously Deputy Director at the AGD, with more than 30 year career within this institution Victor H. Saint-Louis takes over Clovis Noël. The new director said he was determined to implement new approaches to fight against fraud and smuggling and lamented that "According to figures published by the Dominican authorities, more than 50 billion gourdes of Dominican goods are exported annually to Haiti." Recalling that of this amount "about 13 billion only, are taken into account by our customs services."
