Monday, Dr. Florence Guillaume, Minister of Health, accompanied by the First Lady, Sophia Martelly and Katsuyashi Tamura, Ambassador of Japan accredited to Port-au-Prince, has officially opened the new premises of Hospital of Tuberculosis of Sigueneau, Léogâne.

This hospital was among the buildings of Léogâne that have suffered irreparable damage in the earthquake of 12 January 2010. "The Sanatorium of Sigueneau was built in 1939 under the government of Sténio Vincent. It was then a asylum for the sick. The buildings were completely destroyed 12 January 2010. Today we inaugurate the new premises. To us the leaders, we are given an opportunity: that of serving, anticipate needs, and prepare for the future," declared Sophia Martelly.
