iciHaiti - Education : $1M million for the project «Safe Schools»
Friday, PLAN-Haiti proceeded to the launch of the new project "Safe Schools" (Écoles sûres) funded to the tune of 1 million US dollars over 3 years by PLAN-Sweden. This program involves 30 schools in the West departments, Northeast and Southeast. The choice of schools was made from criteria established by Plan Haiti, Plan Sweden and the Ministry of Education.
This program aims to increase the resilience and security of students and schools in Haiti. The program unfolds around three main areas: Strengthening school infrastructure to better meet major natural hazards; training students so they know how to deal and react to emergencies and increase the capacity of communities; assistance to the Ministry of Education for the integration of risk management in its curriculum.
The Ministry of Education will ensure that this program is entirely consistent with the policies defined in risk management.
