According to Ms. Danilia M. Altidor, the Director of the Haitian Institute of Statistics and Information (IHSI), the institute is working on several major projects including the 5th General Census of Population and Housing in 2016, with the objective to "dispose of demographic data observed much newer on the population" and the consolidation of the national accounts in order to enrich and improve the quality of information produced, that is to say, make them more realistic. This will be done under the patronage of the National Statistics and Economic Studies Institute (INSEE) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The IHSI currently working on the development of the National Strategy for the Development of Statistics (SNDS), which aims to "strengthen the National Statistics System through the implementation of the SNDS by raising awareness all national partners through focal points designated by these institutions."
