Yves Germain Joseph, the Minister of Planning (MPCE) proceeded to the Marriott Hotel, to the launch of an information workshop on the Information System on Development (SID) to facilitate the coordination, evaluation and monitoring of projects to enable all stakeholders in the planning process to have an updated and complete picture of the implementation of projects.

This workshop aimed to introduce to the Directors General of Ministries, Agencies and decentralized Government agencies and of Coordinators of Units of Research and Planning (UEP) the graphical interface of this new system and the procedures for registration of new projects in the Public Investment Programme (PIP).

In his opening remarks, the Minister Jospeh explained that this system constitutes one of the major axes of the policy of strengthening of the management of public investments stressing that it was imperative to have reliable and timely information not only for a better formulation of public policy but also to measure the impact of measures taken.

Note that the SID integrates and provides the harmonization of several components, including a database on investment projects and associated management modules, spatial databases, thematic and sectoral, and a dynamic mapping projects. All components of the SID are based on web technology, accessible through the website of the MPCE and are structured so that they contain all the information about investment projects in progress and to be implemented, whether they are public, private or mixed, national or external initiative.
