In the municipality of Manzanillo, Montecristi province, near the mouth of the Massacre River, a patrol of the Dominican army has arrested 6 Haitians and 2 Dominicans caught making chicken smuggling destined for Haitian market.

The army stated having seized a Daihatsu truck, white, without license plates loaded 21 boxes of chicken, with a total weight of about 500 pounds.

The 8 detainees and the goods were taken initially to the Command station of Puerto de Manzanillo, and then handed over to the Customs General Directorate located in the same locality for appropriate action.
