iciHaiti - Culture : D-21, Festival Carifesta XII

In 21 days, Haiti will host the biggest cultural event in the Caribbean Port au Prince, Jacmel, les Cayes, Gonaives, Cap Haitien will welcome more than 120 shows and events, including a symposium on the 25th and 26th of August which will be held at the National Library around the theme: "The Caribbean a collective memory". At the menu: slavery, Afro- descendants, and repairs to be requested from the old colonial powers. Mr. Thierry Letang, scientific director of the Acte Memorial Caribbean Center for expression and memories of the slave trade, confirmed his participation at the symposium, including a delegation of the Caribbean Writers Association.
Laennec Hurbon and Lyonel Trouillot will be the keynote speakers for Haïti.
Carifesta posters and billboards can be seen all over Port au Prince roads and its peripheries as well as at the airport in the Haitian capital.
