On Tuesday, the National Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DINEPA) and the Housing and Public Building Construction Unit (UCLBP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding providing the sharing of their respective resources for the search for answers to the problems of water supply and the provision of sanitation services in the projects implemented by the UCLBP.

This MoU provides inter alia : to ensure compliance of the regulations on the construction around the perimeters of sources; To make proposals on issues relating to standards, techniques, mechanisms for the implementation of strategies"Drinking Water and Sanitation" of the DINEPA as part of housing projects and sharing of information between the two institutions around interventions in relation to the housing sector, to facilitate the process of building the capacity of DINEPA.

The first interventions under that agreement, will particularly affect the populations of the neighborhoods of Martissant and Baillergeau in the coming months.
