iciHaiti - Diplomacy : Canada wants good elections in Haiti

In a note, the Embassy explains "Canada supports fair, transparent and inclusive elections. With that in mind, we have contributed $11M CAD through the 'Basket Fund' managed by the United Nations Development Program UNDP Haiti to help and strengthen the progression of democracy and good governance in Haiti.

Through the project 'Electoral Transition Support', Canada and the National Democratic Institute - NDI contributed to national efforts to guarantee free, transparent and fair elections and together, also encouraged women's participation in these elections.

The Embassy of Canada will also be present on the ground by deploying a mission of electoral observers throughout the country.
