The National Federation of Dominican Transportation (Fenatrado) unblocked Thursday afternoon the border and the access area to the market of Dajabon.

Ricardo de los Santos, vice president of Fenatrado, said he lifted the blockade because the Haitian and Dominican authorities have concluded an agreement to guarantee the life of drivers and protect the goods.

The decision was taken after a meeting with the governor of Dajabón, Ramona Rodriguez Quezada; Giovanni Escoto, general secretary of Fenatrado in Dajabon; Lieutenant Colonel Santiago Gómez as well as Colonels Félix Pérez Peralta and Francisco Vargas; and also with the regional directors of the National Police based in different provinces of Northwest.
