iciHaiti - CARIFESTA XII : Haiti passes the baton to Barbados

After 10 days of festivities and cultural exchanges, Haiti passed Sunday the baton to Barbados at the end of a colorful spectacle, with a rich program which made the happiness of a large audience numerous.

During the Closing Ceremony, at the Kiosk Occide Jeanty which shone a thousand lights, the President Michel Martelly, spent baton to Stephen A. Lashley, the Minister of Culture and Youth and Sports of Barbados, next country organizer of the event "It was only in 1816 that we had our independence, certainly by following the footsteps of Toussaint Louverture. I am proud to have received this evening the relay of the first Black republic in the world," declared Minister Lashley.

The 12th edition of Carifesta ends. During 10 days more than twenty delegations and thousands of visitors have had the experience of Haiti. Carifesta allowed to celebrate the pleasure of being together while giving other countries the opportunity to appreciate the richness of our culture.
