iciHaiti - Politic : The town hall of Saint-Louis du Nord, paralyzed...
In a letter addressed to members of the government, the Communal Development Council of Saint-Louis du Nord, vigorously protested against "the complicity of national and departmental authorities in the malfunction of the town hall and their indifference to the continuing deterioration of the situation of the commune."

Recall that July 15, 2015, President Martelly intervening in the public square of Saint-Louis du nord had declared "nou mande Majistra yo pa mete pye nan meri a" end of quote, days after, interim executive agents submitted their resignation but no action was taken.

In his letter the Communal Development Council, reminded the central authority that "[...] since, the acount of the Town Hall is blocked, thus paralyzing all activities of thecommunal administration to the point that even the roads service was not operational during the period of patron festivals on 25 August (while the city of Saint-Louis du Nord is known everywhere as one of the cleanest cities of the country)"

In addition the Council returns to the presidential decision "arbitrary and inconsistent taken by government authorities to establish the limits of the new Commune of the Pointe des Palmistes up to city entrance door of Saint-Louis du Nord," stressing "in no case, the commune of Saint-Louis du Nord is ready to lose the most important site in its history (Lavilokan). It would be like asking Haiti to cede the Citadelle..." and demands to restore the commune Saint-Louis du Nord in its previous limits "Otherwise other steps will be taken in this protest movement to assert and enforce our rights..."
