iciHaiti - Social : Delivery of the Square of the Unity in Dantès-Déluy
Thursday, the Housing and Public Building Construction Unit (UCLBP) officially proceeded to the delivery of the Square of the Unity in Dantès-Déluy (Martissant 23), to the Municipality of Port-au-Prince. This event took place in the presence of the Executive Director of the UCLBP, the President of the Municipal Commission of Port-au-Prince, the Ambassador of France, the Director of the Latin America and Caribbean Department of the French Development Agency (AFD), the Director of AFD in Haiti, the head of the infrastructure and urban development section of the Delegation of the EU, of representatives of Haitian institutions and cooperation agencies and the notables of the area.
These works of the Square of the Unity, are part of integrated management interventions of Dantès-Déluy neighborhood. They precede structuring actions of roads and housing in the planned urban renewal component of the integrated development program of informal neighborhoods of Port-au-Prince: Martissant and Baillergeau (AIQIP).
During the ceremony, Clément Bélizaire, the Executive Director of the UCLBP, said that this urban infrastructure has been identified by the inhabitants of Dantès-Déluy and that the work was carried out by community teams of the zone under the supervision of UCLBP. The engineer Bélizaire supports that other interventions like the operationalization of the Support Centre to the reconstruction for strengthening houses, are expected to materialize soon.
