iciHaiti - Economy : International Symposium on the Social and Solidarity Economy

yesterday Wednesday, the Prime Minister, Evans Paul, proceeded to the opening of works of the international symposium on the "Social and Solidarity Economy and social entrepreneurship in Haiti : Current situation, Issues, Challenges and Prospect", held until Friday in Port-au-Prince.

Welcoming the initiative of the organization Development and Peace, the Head of Government wanted to emphasize the investments already made in starting social enterprises in Haiti. He sees in the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) a significant contribution to make in the fight against poverty.

"The human dimension, collective of the SSE is in line with the ideals of human enhancement and sustainable development. To this end, I would stress its importance to Haiti and its development opportunities," recalled Prime Minister Evans Paul in his speech.

He also avocated for the establishment of a regulatory and institutional framework of the SSE in Haiti, while reiterating his solidarity, the commitment and responsibility of its government for sustainable development, based on the human and respect of the environment.

In conclusion, he wished the participants of the symposium, that their work could help develop a manual of good practices to improve the internal corporate governance in Haiti.
