iciHaiti - Agriculture : More than 51 billion Gdes for agricultural infrastructure

As part of the 2015-2016 budget, in support to the economic recovery predicted for the agricultural sector, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, has provided for the water control, irrigation and hydro-agriculture infrastructures, of investments of more than 51 billion gourdes over 10 years, including more than 5 billion in the new budget for among others :
- Increase the irrigated area in a sustainable way ;
- Diversify irrigation techniques and water use conditions according to the characteristics of irrigated areas;
- The construction of rural infrastructures adapted to natural resources management needs, of production and marketing ;
- The Water access at 90,000 40,000 hectares of land including 40,000 to rehabilitated and 50,000 hectares with new infrastructure.
